Review: Suburban Legends

Suburban Legends: True Tales of Murder, Mayhem, and Minivans - Sam Stall

I decided to read this book when it was promoted on Twitter by the publisher, Quirk Books. I really dig this publisher! Plus I love paranormal and true crime stories so it seemed like an easy win for me.

It was a quick, fairly entertaining read but I found the voice and tone much too contrived and cheesy for my taste. The theme of "suburbia" was VERY loosely related to these stories. This categorization did feel like a bit of an afterthought.

The really good stories in the collection were all ones that I had already heard in podcasts or read in other books. All in all, I would not recommend this book. There are so many better ways to consume delicious paranormal and true crime stories.
